Wreckamic- Lyricist

Steven Mullen Also known as the Talented Lyricist Wreckamic has been one of BLU’s favorite artists since the company started and Wreckamic has never failed when it came to giving up some hot music to promote. BLU wanted to give you viewers a little one on one info about this talented rapper and once you are don’t reading through Wrecka’s Interview with BLU be sure to go to the artist section of the site to listen and download some of his latest projects!
Steven “Wreckamic” Mullen
(Rap Lyricist)
“I'm not a "wannabe,  I actually do this shit!”

BLU: Where are you from and how old are you?

Wrecka: I'm 27 and I was born at FLOW HOSPITAL in Denton, TX.

BLU: How long have you been rapping?

Wrecka: I wrote my first rap at 8 yrs old. I've been recording my music since 2002.

Steven "Wreckamic" Mullen
BLU: How would you describe your music?

Wrecka: When I first started, I was more style than substance and there wasn't that much authenticity in my lyrics. As I've matured and become a man, my music is more about my real life through the ups and downs.

BLU: Who are your influences?

Wrecka: Being from the South, UGK, Geto Boys, 8Ball & MJG, Outkast, Master P, Screwed Up Click & Swisha House influenced me a lot. I think I've become more known for my ability to really spit and that came from listening to how cats like Jay-Z, Nas, Big Pun, Big L, Eminem, Chamillionaire, Bun B & Twista spit their rhymes. I pride myself on versatility.

BLU: There are a lot of people out who want to be rappers, what makes you different?

Wrecka: Umm, probably that I'm not a "wannabe". I actually do this shit! I started out in the battle circuits competing. I moved on to opening up for big names like Webbie, Scarface, Juelz Santana, Z-Ro, Soulja Boy & more. After securing a licensing deal with EA Sports for their "MMA" video game, I'm focused on signing deals and creating more business for myself.

BLU: What do you believe will be the most challenging part of your music journey?

Wrecka: There are so many challenges. I can't worry about all that. I just know that I have to be prepared to deal with bullshit and persevere.

BLU: 2011 is almost over… What do hope to accomplish before the year is up?

Wrecka: I would like to release 2 full length projects, 2 music videos and have a functional website running by 2012.

BLU: You have been dropping out a lot of hot singles lately are there any upcoming projects or showcases that we should look out for?

Wrecka: I've just been focusing on getting back to the studio and creating so I've turned down shows for about 6 months. I got to a point where I felt like I was running out of fresh material and I was outgrowing some of the stuff I had been rapping about so be prepared for a lot more NEW Wreckamic music to be dropping soon. I have the "Return of the Grizzly" mixtape that I am doing with Swurv Radio's Da Hitman. I'm doing "Blood Money: Hosted by Paul Wall Mixed by Campus Kingz Dj Frosty and "God of Flow 3". I have upcoming mixtapes with Dj Blazinhell & Dj OK as well.

BLU: If you can work with any artists in the next upcoming projects who would it be and why?

Wrecka: I don’t feature many artists on my songs so it would have to be someone that I respect as an artist. I've always wanted to work with E-40. I like Young Dro, Bun B, Crooked I, & Tech N9ne. I like lyricism and creativity. There aren't too many rappers that I'm feeling these days.

BLU: If you could be anything other than a rapper what would you be?

Wrecka: I'd work with troubled youth.

BLU: Where can we find more of your work?

Wrecka: I frequently post new music on http://wreckamic.blogspot.com and have a lot of music at http://youtube.com/wreckamic

BLU: What music are you listening to right now?

Wrecka: I've been listening to everything but rap! When I'm in my writing mode, I like to expose myself to different genres to further cultivate my music palette.

BLU: Do you have any last shout outs or anything else you would like to add?

Wreckamic
Wrecka: Yes. Shouts out to BOSS RADIO! Without God I would be nothing. One love to my mama. Big ups to the Campus Kingz Djs, Dj Blazinhell, Da'Hitman, Dewun Music, Big Tra "THEEEE HITMAKUH", Necksnappers, D. Twine, Pikture Perfekt, all my friends, fans and fam!
