Cancellation Rumors of Shawty Lo “All My Baby Mamas”

The thought of a third-string rapper getting a reality show because he was irresponsible enough to have 11 children with 10 different women sent chills and shock waves through the Black community. Most prayed it was a sick prank, but Shawty Lo, his children, and baby mamas do exist. The cable network Oxygen thought their lifestyle was unique and wanted to film it for a reality show.

Once news broke about the new show Oxygen was developing, people were outraged and petitioned for the show to be cancelled before it aired. A petition on Change.org amassed over 40,000 signatures and for a split second it looked as if Oxygen would cave underneath the pressure after writer Allison Samuels posted an article on The Daily Beast saying she had sources who stated the cable network was soon to announce “All My Baby Mamas” wouldn’t ever see the light of day. However, according to an Oxygen Network rep, Samuels’ sources are incorrect.

The unidentified Oxygen representative spoke exclusively to AllHipHop.com, “This rumor is simply untrue. The project remains in early development.” Apparently, Shawty Lo’s “All My Baby Mamas” is still scheduled to air sometime in May.

One album, two BET Awards, ten baby mommas and eleven kids. Those are the stats Carlos “Shawty Lo” Walker is working with.  According to Shadow & Act, the Atlanta rapper has parlayed those numbers into a new reality TV show on the Oxygen network, “All My Babies’ Mamas.”

“‘All My Babies’ Mamas’ will be filled with outrageous and authentic over-the-top moments that our young, diverse female audience can tweet and gossip about, ” says Cori Abraham, Senior Vice President of Development at Oxygen Media.

Seven of the baby mamas are profiled along with their “Flavor of Love” style nicknames:

E’creia “The First Lady”: She controls his money and  she was once engaged to Shawty Lo. She cheated on him with another dude.

• Angela aka “Chocolate” the “Fighter Baby Mama”
• Amanda “The Jealous Baby Mama”
• Sujuan “Wanna Be-Bougie” Baby Mama
• Tamara “No Drama Baby Mama”
• Serena “The Shady Baby Mama”
• Leiana aka Pebbles “The Baby Mama From Hell”

and Shawty Lo’s 19-year-old girlfriend Ashlin who is as young as his oldest children.

There is all of the shade and jockeying for position that you’d expect. It’s like “Flavor of Love” in reverse because they’ve all already “won” the man and got way more than a clock as their parting gift. But we’ll tune in to see if this serial inseminator can maintain his current monogamy?
