Dewun Music is a artist who wants the world to feel his lyrics and believe in music again. He has been one of BLU’s favorite artist to network with for a long time and  has always given us  great material to showcase to the world. BLU wanted to give you viewers a little one on one info about this talented Artist and advise you to keep a look out for him because he will be around with the top artist very soon!

BLU: How have you been Dee and what have you been up to these past two years? I have heard that you've been really busy!

DeWun: Really.. you’re going to ask me about a whole 2 years lol

BLU: lol No Just give the viewers a little outline of the history of being "DeWun Music"

DeWun:….well wow… there’s Performing on BET 106 & Park…..breaking into other continents (Africa & Europe) …..4 original projects released….back to back shows…. A lot of traveling…radio play and interviews....videos released. Building the #DeWunNation team…… Got my media business (iclass ENT) up and running…the list goes on and on…. man... I mean… really just putting in work….now I’m working on a life changing project... “The Audible”

BLU:  You have been on BossLikeUs Promotions since its first launching and for all who may not know you, could you tell the people who you are?

DeWun: Hey Guys I’m DeWun Music…please visit the bio section on www.DeWunNation.com (PLUG lol)

BLU: How long have you been rapping? 

DeWun: Ummm...…haha…. "Un-officially”….since probably about 2004/2005..me and a couple guys I grew up with had a group called “Southern Born”. … Due to moving during high school, with about an hour distance, we split but, I stayed on the production side of things until about 2009. That’s kind of when I decided I wanted to take the artist thing serious.

BLU: Ok you speak of you new project “The Audible” Could you tell us more about that project and when it will come out? 

DeWun: This is about my struggle, my hope... This is the unexpected...This is the Real.... This is the Audible... Release date is still TBA 

BLU: How would you describe your music? 

DeWun: Calculated….Conceptual…Creativity

BLU: Who are your influences? 

DeWun: My grandmother (Nana), and My late father (Eric Kwaku Owusu). As far as music goes, I started out as a producer…so most of my influences were in that realm Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ryan Leslie, and Shawty Redd. Far as my rap style believe it or not... I spent a lot of time listening to Bubba Sparxxx …he had a real smooth delivery, he was easy to listen to and mostly produced by Timbaland... and of course there are others I respect and listen to often.   

BLU: There are a lot of different styles that have transitioned in to the music industry and I see that you have progressed in you music as well...could you tell me what makes your music different from what's already out there? 

DeWun: Well most of the industry just promotes getting drunk, doing drugs, partying and fornicating… oh and the “IM BALLIN” track. I try to stray away from a lot of that, because I don’t drink. I don’t smoke….no drugs…and I’m DEFINITELY not rich (YET)…. So I try my absolute hardest to stay true to who I am in my music. I want you to know ME by knowing my music… I don’t want “DeWun Music” to be a character… I Want DeWun to be a real living...breathing, person that you can relate to.

BLU: What do you believe will be the most challenging part of your music journey?

DeWun: Combating the current direction of Hip Hop…. Getting people to listen to something other than the simplified mainstream urban artistry and topics is like pulling teeth. Once I unlock that door….. ITS OVER.

BLU:Well we are half way in the 2012 year … Can you tell us what you hope to accomplish before the year is up? 

DeWun:To release and brand the hell out of "The Audible"…. and quite honestly, ink a deal….my agent has been working hard for me.... and we are getting some great looks... and the support base is growing daily… so hopefully everything lines up.

BLU: Are there any upcoming projects or showcases that we should look out for?

DeWun: I’m to the point to where I’m done dropping projects to drop projects…. So now I’m concentrating on branding and making sure that what is dropped is SEEN AND HEARD. “The Audible” will be THE LAST project I drop until I ink a deal. Reason being, I need to REALLLY push this and saturate the hell out of it... so that people know me for this sound and feeling in my music. It will be a purchase only project and promoted primarily through a series of short films and videos. Visuals are where the numbers are at these days, so Media Arts and Talent (MAT) and I, are really putting in work, to bring my project to life. I’m really working on making “The Audible” the IT project for me. Far as showcases go, Ben Cina and I are discussing a few tandem showcases for our listeners. We’ve done a lot of work together and we know our supporters will love that. The live band shows with Ben have been my favorite shows thus far.

BLU:Well there are a lot of artist out here that are trying to come up in this game right now and lack humbleness & being thankful to those who help them build in their dream, BLU just wants to make sure that our ol’friend DeWun Music Doesn’t change up like the rest, what makes you remain grateful?

DeWun: Honestly this entertainment thing is all built on support, and I think that when people get to a certain point to where it becomes a machine rather than fans that keep them on top. They forget that, to even get to that point in the first place you had to have "the little people" so to speak, that believed in you. And more important than any amount of money to me, is the fact that my listeners relate to and respect my craft. And that’s the absolute truth no bullshit PR behind this or anything I say or do. Literally every single time somebody tells something simple as "I like that song" it touches my spirit in a place that no currency will ever even scrape...... This is part of me. And I hope my supporters understand and feel that when they hear my music....especially "The Audible".

BLU: If you can work with any artists in the next upcoming projects who would it be and why? 

DeWun: Honestly if I could get a song with John Legend...it would be life changing. I respect dude and his sound so much. He makes anything he is on, sound outstanding. Other than John Legend, Andre 3000, not only is he one of my favorite artist, he is VERY selective with features... so to get one from him means you are doing something. 

  
BLU: What music are you listening to right now? 

DeWun: Honestly, as of late, while working on "The Audible, I haven’t listened to anything but that. I do not want any outside influence or sound on this project. I want this project to come from within. 

BLU: Where can we find more of your work?

BLU: One more question before we go...the ladies still want to know....Are you single still?

DeWun: I mean really could you picture DeWun wifed?? NAAHHHH...lol... yes I am still single...Right now, Im taking this time in my life to be a little selfish and concentrate on my progression, because one day, I will not have that luxury. 

BLU: Do you have any last shout outs or anything else you would like to add?

DeWun: First, I thank God, for everything I have, and everything I don’t have. Second, Wadup to my Nana, Shoutout to Craze Entertainment for working so hard for me, Brandi N. for all the help and direction she has given me, everyone I work with on these projects, BIG SHOUTOUT to GHANA, and all the Dj's showing me International love, And last but not least ..
